Saving Water Day

When Ms. Miedema’s Grade 5/6 class at Timothy Christian School in Toronto chose to focus on clean water for its Social Studies Justice Project, the whole school decided to join in. Their “Saving Water Day” was an overwhelming success!

For a full day the students drank only the water they had carried up from a “pond” set up in the gym—highlighting the fact that millions of people have to walk a distance, often a long way, to fetch water. After a day of creative activities focussed on water, including a bake sale, they presented Bopoma Villages with a donation of $951.65. Wow!

The students’ enthusiastic fundraising will provide 9 households (up to 90 people!) in rural Zimbabwe with BioSand Filters and the gift of clean water! Thank you Timothy Christian School!
